New Decorations and silliness!

Fall decorations are out and the windows are open.  This is one of my favorite times of year.  Football is over, so the schedule has loosened up a little bit.  The only bad thing for me at this time of year is that my husband is an avid hunter and is in the woods more than he's at home, but I know how important it is for him, and I like to hear of all his adventures.  Here is a silly picture of him from Halloween, where he donned a wig and went to the church's fall festival activities.  He thought it would embarass the children, but they loved seeing him being silly.  I am thankful for having such a wonderful man to share my life with.

Check out these great pilgrims and indian girl resin statues that my mom bought me at Garden Ridge!  They were half price, and she thought I needed them, and treated me to them!  I just love how they look, and they make everyone smile!

blurry mums

Well, homecoming week is officially over.  It was fun-filled and hectic.  My kids are involved in everything, so I was up until 2:00 a.m. three nights washing clothes/uniforms for them to wear again.  The weather didn't help any in keeping things clean since there was little specks of mud on everything.  The final mum picture is a little blurry, but I took it with my cell phone because I was tired, but wanted to document the results of all the madness.  The zebra and camo was a big hit with the kids.
The J.V. football team did extremely well and beat the town rivals.  Varsity didn't win, so that's never good, but there's always the next game.  Hoping the district results will be positive for these boys.  I've packed up the mum craft supplies until next year and my blisters have almost healed, so on to the next crafting session!

Fantastic Fridays

Well, Friday is here.  This time of year is crazy hectic for my family.  We have something going every night of the week, sometimes more than one thing.  Football is in the air and the game is the place to be on Friday nights.  So I'll be cheering the team on tonight then travelling to a neighboring town in the morning to watch Gert play volleyball.  I have such a full life with my kids.  They are so eager to be involved and participate in everything.  Sometimes I feel like we're always gone, but I never want them to look back and say, "I wish I would have..."  So off to another event we go with smiles all around.  Homecoming week is next week and will be busier than the normal week around our house.  Many extra activities are squeezed in, but it's so fun to see the community come support the kids and get involved.  I will upload the pictures of the desk I promised soon, along with pics of the zebra baby blanket.  I've got to finish the other one since the twins are born now who I was making them for.  Have a blessed Friday!

First day of school!!

Well, I've taken a long enough break from my blog, so I'm back!!  I'm going to catch up by saying I might have been in a little depression since I've realized my babies aren't babies anymore!!  Gert is officially in high school and Big Country is a middle schooler.  I still don't know how they have grown so much.  They are so cool.  They have such strong opinions and are experiencing so many things that will shape their lives and help them to make decisions for their future.  I couldn't be prouder of them.

Now, I have decided the depression is over and time to move on.  Can't wait to show you the desk I painted black and the zebra baby throw I've been working on.  Gotta go to a meeting now.  Happy crafting!

summer coming to an end

the plants are dried out, the sand blows in the slightest breeze. summer is in full swing, and before long school will start and bring all the activities of a new school year.
vacation is but a memory with only pictures to remind me of the salty breezes i enjoyed. the trip was so relaxing and so fun to watch the kids. i haven't finished uploading all the pics to an album yet, but will post the link when i do.
baseball tourney tomorrow will bring sweat and more sweat. hope they do well, it makes the stinky ride on the way home much more bearable.
hope to squeeze some school shopping in if the boys get done at a decent time. girl child had friends over, and boys are gone now, and the girls can be heard chatting it up from her room with the door closed. she's learning lots about friends and relationships and which boys should be friends and which should be relationships. she cracks me up. she's a little direct like old mom. like i always say, they won't have to worry about her talking behind their backs, she'll let them know how she feels face to face.
getting sleepy. sleep hasn't come easy for a while and haven't felt rested in weeks, but i figure i'll catch up some time. until next time, goodnight!
